Bio
My name is Tim Kelleher and I'm a 47 year old gay man living in Boston. I grew up in a large Irish Catholic family north of the city and went to college and graduate school here in New England. Most of my career has been spent in marketing and advertising, but I love art and antiques and took some time to start my own antiques business in the late 90's. After 3 or 4 years, it became evident that instead of a lucrative business, I was pursuing a very expensive hobby. Well, after a few ups and downs, I am back on the market looking for an opportunity in the marketing communications field working for an established company.

Personally, after a few false starts, 3 and a 1/2 years ago I found a really wonderful guy - he's smart, strong, handsome, masculine, sexy and 12 years younger than me - his name is Tony. Conveniently, he's not only a great fit as a partner, but we fit into each other's clothes too. We're bears - larger, hairier gay men who represent a growing subculture of gay life. We like other bears, but more impotantly, for me at least, we like ourselves the way we are. I've always been bigger and hairier, but it wasn't until bears became more visible in the gay community that I started to feel comfortable with my body and the way I looked.

Although being gay and being a bear are some of the things I hope to write about, I really hope I can do that in a way that is relatable to readers outside those parameters. There's a lot going on in my head about politics, materialism in society, self-esteem, family issues and, of course, that age old question, "What's up with Britney?" Well anyways, I hope somebody out there will be interested in what I have to say - and I hope I have the discipline to keep posting material.

I've always liked the idea of being a writer and I am hoping that this new endeavor will get me started. As I speed along life's highway toward 50, keeping up with technology and culture seem to threaten my opportunity to say anything relevant before I've even had a chance to write anything meaningful and present it in a public forum. Hopefully, this experience will prove that I have something wothwhile to say - if only to myself.

Thanks for reading!

Tim
